Event Details

To celebrate the visit to our cold but fair shores by Greg Stein and Hyrum Wright, the GIST Foundation in association with the Apache Software Foundation and WANDisco are holding an informal gathering for those interested in Apache, Open Source, Python, WANdisco and the new Bloohound project at the Rutland Arms.

  • Greg is a director of the Apache Software Foundation, a member of the Python Software Foundation and a maintainer of the Python language and libraries.
  • Hyrum has been release manager on the Apache Subversion project since 2008.

What's happening?

Attendees should gather in the upstairs room at the Rutland Arms from 18:30 and discussion is likely to cover the Apache Software Foundation, Bloodhound project and all things Open Source. If there's time, maybe we'll cover how Greg Launched Google code or some of his other war stories from the cutting edge.

Who should come?

Anyone interested in Apache, Open Source or the new Bloodhound project. Or anyone interested in Python, WANdisco or indeed anything else. Or anyone who would like to meet Greg and Hyrum while they visit us in Sheffield.  Free pint for everyone who arrives on time.
